ASUP strike: Chapters to decide on suspension strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has directed its members in all chapters to hold a referendum on suspension of the ongoing strike in the nation’s polytechnics. Mr Usman Dutse, ASUP National President, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Lagos that the referendum would hold between this week and next week. We Don’t Know Who Constructed The Giant Broom, Says APC

The All Progressives Congress says the party is not responsible for the giant broom monument mounted at the city gate in Abuja. The structure, a broom which is a symbol of the All Progressives Congress, has generated widespread reactions from Nigerians, with some questioning why a party symbol would be erected at such a monumental position as the city gate of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The APC publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu in an exclusive chat with Channels Television says the giant broom was erected by Nigerians who support the Buhari-led administration. 2019 elections: Buhari arrives in Lagos for campaign

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Lagos, as he continues his bid to be re-elected. NAN reports that Buhari and his entourage landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos, at 10.13am on Saturday amid tight security. The president was received by All Progressives Congress chieftains and supporters including Governors Akinwunmi Ambode, Abiola Ajimobi, Rotimi Akeredolu and Abdullahi Ganduje of Lagos, Oyo, Ondo and Kano states respectively. Others were the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu and Lagos State APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Buhari is scheduled to visit the Palace of the Oba of Lagos Rilwan Akiolu and the State House in Marina. The President will then proceed to the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, where he will address people and solicit their votes.
